When I started researching what opening a franchise would entail, and learned how the business would run and how it was SO aligned with my values, it was a no-brainer. I began my journey with Lathered in 2015 and was hooked from the start. In those five years I have been a cleaner, trainer, quality control, office admin, and am now their social media guru (I also accept "goddess"). This company isn’t about earning a pay cheque and going home; it’s about working with people that see your potential and want to see you thrive. I highly recommend taking the leap and joining the Lathered team.
I knew in order to be in control of my future I needed to own my own business. I stumbled upon an amazing opportunity created by even more amazing women! These women challenge and support me in ways I could not have imagined. In a few short months my business has flourished because of the support, knowledge and experience I am surrounded by. Funny enough, applying to join the Lathered family had nothing to do with cleaning. I could see Lathered's big ol' heart full of gratitude everywhere. From the words on the job ad, to the website, to the outpouring of love all over social media. The gratitude, with wit, the loving banter, it all had me ready to jump in to a career path that has never crossed my mind, which is not a "me" thing to do. I have mentally grown into the person that I am proud be. As an employee, as a mentor and as a mother. It doesn't end there either. There is no limit to growth. Ever.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We like to share everything but there sure it a LOT. If you have a question that you don't see listed below or something doesn't quite make sense, throw it at us! We are happy to help!
What are the costs entailed?
There is an initial franchise fee of $24,000 + GST. This includes your rights to your geographical area, one week of training in the office and 1 week of cleaning training. Assistance in setting up your e-mail account, ASANA (project management system), QuickBooks Online, Jobber (scheduling system), Dropbox and Facebook page. We will also provide you with your first cleaning kit full of supplies, vacuum and mop.
You will want to have a lawyer go over all the legal documents full of legal jargon as well. Our other franchises have found some they love if you need help finding one!
What ongoing fees are there?
With your royalty fee of 7.5% of your monthly revenue, you will receive ongoing support through bi-weekly online meetings (in person if you choose), all of our ever evolving systems, templates and tools. Ongoing training webinars and 24/7 access to support platforms that give you access to all the Lathered owners and their priceless advice. You will never feel alone!
1.5% of this fee is dedicated to marketing. We will know your audience and how to best grab their attention before you even open your doors. With regular posts, newsletters and more all targeted to your local market, our media manager is dedicated to your growth and will help you get to where you want to be as fast as you want to get there.
Annual fee of $5000 for software subscriptions including Jobber, Quickbooks Online, Jotform, Survey monkey, Kartra, Website, email & ASANA.
How long is the commitment?
While you're going to love us forever, your original franchise agreement is for 5 years. After which you can decide to leave the Lathered Cleaning name, systems and clientele to find a new adventure or you can continue building your dream with us for another 5 years for simply the cost of the legal documents being created!

The question is do you want to put your hard work into starting something from scratch, have the stress of figuring it out on your own and risking taking one step forward and 2 steps back? Or do you want to take advantage of the lessons we have learned already and use your effort and time to grow a successful business in less time? We have been in these shoes and walked in them for years, we know exactly what you will be going through and know the best way to get you where you want to go.
From registering your business, to paying remittances, WCB, payroll and so many other 'secrets' the business community seems to hold we will walk you through ALL of them!
Will Lathered help with training and hiring?
Every. Step. Of. The. Way. We have videos, real time help and templates for all the 'What Ifs?'. Everything that we have learned along the way has been recorded so that you don't have to learn it the hard way. From your training, to hiring your staff and training them, we have the know how you will need and are always improving.
Our cup is never full. We always encourage our staff and franchisees to give input on how to grow and better our ways!
What if I want to use toxic cleaning supplies?
At Lathered we are committed to using non toxic products that clean as well if not better than conventional cleaners but without the risk to your health and the health of your employees and clients. Forget the old school idea of needing 10 products from under the sink and we will arm you with the best products for the job while keeping you safe and minimizing the environmental impact at the same time. Even old dogs have jumped on board after trying our ways! In 2020 we took things even further and developed our own line of cleaning products. They are tried, tested and true to our non-toxic values. Bonus is, you get them at a discounted rate!
